Love quotations

I do love quotations and I think this one by William Pollard is particularly appropriate.

“Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized,
processed , and available to the right people in a format for decision making,
it is a burden, not a benefit.”
Any good quotations for me?

I always liked this quote about public libraries:

“…a place of books and reading, of research, of librarians, of free thought, and of balance – balance between education and recreation, between print and electronic, between quiet and noise, and between parental concern and civil liberties” (Scrogham, 2006)

Oh, I came across another comment for you. It was posted on whiteboard of a public libraries group on Facebook:

'If this nation is to be wise as well as strong, if we are to achieve our destiny, then we need more new ideas for more wise men reading more good books in more public libraries. These libraries should be open to all — except the censor. We must know all the facts and hear all the alternatives and listen to all the criticisms. Let us welcome controversial books and controversial authors. For the Bill of Rights is the guardian of our security as well as our liberty.' (John F. Kennedy, 1960)

Here, here! :-)
